It helps to include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and the app version (Settings → Version).
Open the app and tap Bring name to the Island on the Home tab.
If nothing happens, Live Activities may be off: iOS Settings → Pet Widget → Live Activities. The app will point you there if it detects this.
The Island panel requires an iPhone with a Dynamic Island — iPhone 14 Pro or later. On other iPhones your pet still appears on the Lock Screen, which is the same Live Activity.
iOS ends Live Activities on its own — after a period of inactivity, on restart, or under memory pressure. This is a system limit, not something the app controls. Open the app and bring your pet back.
Touch and hold an empty part of your Home Screen until the icons jiggle, tap Edit → Add Widget, then search for the app. There's an illustrated walkthrough in the app under Settings → Widgets.
